Jacob Narayan

I’m Jacob and I like going places.
That sounds like an aggressively simple way to start a travel website, but it’s pretty much the truth.
I’ve always been the kind of person who would rather actually go somewhere than spend too much time talking about going somewhere. A cheap flight, a loose plan, a camera, and a place I’ve never been before is usually enough convincing for me.
Over the years, that has taken me across the United States and around the world, through big cities, tiny towns, mountains, islands, deserts, and quite a few places I probably couldn’t have pointed to on a map a few years earlier.
I’m not particularly interested in traveling just to check countries off a list. What I love is the feeling of being somewhere completely unfamiliar and slowly figuring it out. Walking around without really knowing where I’m going. Trying food I’ve never heard of (sometimes). Learning the history of a place while standing where it actually happened. Meeting people I never would have met at home. Occasionally making a questionable transportation decision because Google Maps said it would probably work.
Some trips are meticulously planned. Others are held together by a flight confirmation, an eSIM, and unreasonable confidence that I’ll figure the rest out when I get there.
Usually, I do.
This is where I’m putting all of it.
The photos, the stories, the places I loved, the places that surprised me, the things worth doing, the things I’d skip next time, and all the little pieces of information I wish someone had told me before I went.
I’m also a photographer, content creator, app builder, and someone who has somehow managed to turn curiosity into a pretty significant part of my life. Travel gives me an excuse to combine all of those things. I get to research somewhere obsessively, go experience it for myself, photograph it, write about it, and then hopefully make the next person’s trip a little better.
I don’t travel luxuriously, and I don’t really travel like a backpacker either. I’ll spend $30 on a flight and then immediately spend $100 doing something cool when I get there. I care a lot more about experiences than having the nicest hotel room in the city.
The goal isn’t to tell you the “perfect” way to travel.
It’s to show you how I did it, what I learned, and why I think a place is worth seeing for yourself.
There’s a lot of world out there.
I’m working on it.
